Grandma koch's kraut
Servings: 6 - 8

2 lb. sauerkraut
1 can condensed beef broth
1 can water
1 medium onion diced
3 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
4.3 ounce sliced mushrooms (optional)

  1. rinse kraut cover with water in 3 quart sauce pan.Bring to a boil and drain off water.
     
  2. Add 1 can condensed beef broth and 1 can water. Bring to a boil and simmer for 1 hour.
     
  3. while the kraut simmers dice and brown 1 medium onion in 2 tablespoons olive oil.
     
  4. add 3 tablespoons flour,salt and pepper to taste to the onions. Mix well and add to kraut.
     
  5. Stir in one small jar or can of sliced mushrooms.
     
  6. We serve with kielbasa and mashed potato's. Great meal!!
